I was brought on to this job in it's early stages, working with VFX Supervisor Sheila Wickens, remotely from New Zealand. The brief was very particular that the details of the shots should be authentic to the time the film was set. The Moulin Rouge shot was complicated because the building has been burnt down twice, and photographic reference of the original is very low quality. Ensuring that the posters, lights, typography etc were correct was very important.
